Peer Pressure (contd.)

In my prev. post, overview of "peer pressure" was discussed and I'll extend it a bit further.

Personal Attention

It's very common to many who always need strict attention from other. It cannot be bad, because when you have some dedicated attention from someone then you may feel comfortable in sharing each other views. At initial stage, it seems like the relationship is very healthy.

But when the degree of attention is forced to be increased, it creates many problem including breaking-up the relationship. This can also be referred as possessiveness. More details on this topic is explained in wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attachment_in_adults

It can be a friend who always resisting to meet/talk with other friends, or the betterhalf who resists in every action of your activities.

So limit the possessiveness, if everything is more including love, there are always some problem waiting to enter.. Good luck  :)

Peer Pressure

Suitable audience: Students/Freshers

Peer pressure refers to the influence exerted by a peer group in encouraging a person to change his or her attitudes, values, or behavior in order to conform to group norms. (Source: Wikipedia )

There are several reasons before I choose this topic, because it's very familiar to me in giving this peer pressure to my friends during college days :) Guess many of us would have experienced the same in our day to day life.

Human nature always tend to be in a certain group (or gang, whatever). Either it's a family where we stay with parents/relatives, or social life with friends, or at work place with our colleagues. When we're alone, absolutely there's no problem. But when you put two people together, now it starts.

Every one has the ability to think, suggest, act... Now when it comes to group activity, each one will be happy in imposing their ideas on others. Just an example, it may be a friend who's forbidding you to smoke/drink liquor. This situation depends on the different environment and groups. Sometime it's okay to handle but at many times it may be irritating or doing something under "pressure".

Here's the same example.

Situation: A friend asking you to quit smoking
Solution: Oops change is very difficult especially in quitting smoking. Possible solution is you can quit smoking :) . If you're not, don't pretend like you quit when actually not. To lie is the biggest mistake for your peers. If they find out the fact, now you may need to "smoke more" to avoid from pressures. So not to lie is the first lesson.

So ultimately how we can handle other pressures like this? Only by experience. Because different people at various environment can behave differently.

( ..to be contd )

Most Liked Poem

Over years, very few thing we remember from our school days. I do remember a poem, which I happened to mug-up during school annual vacation. But after some two months, I've learned the meaning of that poem from my tutor and I felt like the whole meaning of life is explained in just 13 lines. And this is the only one poem which I remember even after many years of my schooling..

The poem starts in Tamil lang. like "யாதும் ஊரே, யாவரும் கேளிர்" which means "To us all towns are one, all men our kin" from a famous anthology of Tamil literature called Purananuru. Here it goes, the actual tamil poem and its translation in English:

To us all towns are one, all men our kin,
Life's good comes not from others' gifts, nor ill,
Man's pains and pain's relief are from within,
Death's no new thing, nor do our blossoms thrill
When joyous life seems like a luscious draught.
When grieved, we patient suffer; for, we deem
This much-praised life of ours a fragile raft
Borne down the waters of some mountain stream
That o'er huge boulders roaring seeks the plain
Tho' storms with lightning's flash from darkened skies.
Descend, the raft goes on as fates ordain.
Thus have we seen in visions of the wise !
We marvel not at the greatness of the great;
Still less despise we men of low estate.

First Post

Who Am I..?

Raghuveer Babu. Typical software engineer and lazy human among billions.

Why this "kolaveri" in always creating new blogs..?

Every time when I create a "new" blog, I have a force to live my blog with posts.. But lazy human nature, I always fail in this. Now no duplication of blogs, this is the only one personal blog and probably the "final" one. And if I fail to end up to make this blog live, then this will be the last one too, no more new releases...

What I can write..?

People experience is the most valuable and important experience to live up our life. This blog may discuss some  day to day experiences reg. that.. What to's and  not to's with respect to others.,... As always open to healthy discussions..
